How to Install Dynamic Car Led Emblem Light
There are two methods to install your Car led emblem light. The first method involves using the car’s wiring harness and connector, the other is by incorporating it into your fuse box. We will show you both in this handy guide.
Note, there are two differences in the way the LED emblem lights work depending on how you install it onto your vehicle.
What are the differences between the two installation methods?
Method 1: When you unlock your car using the car key, the emblem will light up with animation.
Method 2: When you start your car, it will light up with animation. It will also stay illuminated whilst driving.
Method 1 of installing your Dynamic LED Emblem
This method involves finding your daytime running light circuit and installing the emblem wiring into it. Using the image below, find the daytime running light circuit, it should be a multi-port connector that is behind your headlights. It can vary depending on which model of vehicle you have. But checking online, this can be found easily for your vehicle.
Note: Red wire is a positive circuit, and the black wire is a negative one.
Once the daytime running lights connector has been found, first the negative pin needs to be inserted into the negative port on the connector. Do this by using the diagram below and finding another black wire in the connector. This will tell you where the negative circuit is.
Use the diagram below to insert the positive pin (Red) at the end of your emblem wiring into the connector positive port on the headlamp connector. Before you complete the installation, test the circuit by unlocking your vehicle or turning the vehicle on. If it lights up, you can fit the connector back into the headlight and your LED emblem is working.
Method 2 of installing your Dynamic LED Emblem
The method involves connecting the LED emblem wiring directly to the fuse box. This is only possible if your led emblem has fuse plug wiring with two pins, see the diagram below.
First, the negative ground loop needs to be connected. This is found on the end of the black wire (see diagram below). You need to loosen a bolt that is connected to the body of the car (see diagram below), insert the loop under the bolt, and tighten the bolt securely to form a strongly grounded circuit.
Then, you need to find and replace a fuse that is part of a circuit that only switches on when the car is switched on (anything that is not permanently living). Finding this for your vehicle involves researching the fuse box diagram, either found on the back of the fuse box lid, the vehicle manual, or by researching online.
Example fuses could be window switches or daytime running lights. Once you have found the right fuse, remove the existing 10A or 15A fuse (either of them is okay to use) and replace it with the LED Emblem fuse. Then test your dynamic LED emblem by switching your car on and seeing if it lights up.
